Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

DoneNow (donenow.ie) is an Irish local-jobs marketplace operating across Ireland. It connects people who need everyday jobs done (customers) with local workers. The data controller for the personal data described here is Alexandre Juan B Hanly Brion, a sole trader trading as "DoneNow", 33 Shannon Gael, Carrick On Shannon, Co. Roscommon, N41 X5V2, Ireland. 2. What data we collect

• Account: name, email address, the town or area you choose and its map location, and (optionally) phone number and profile photo
• Worker profile (workers only): skills, working area and radius, rate, short bio, whether you are open to new jobs, and when you were last active in the app
• Jobs: title, description, category, photos you upload, the job address and its map location, budget and timing
• Messages you exchange with the other side of a job in the in-app chat
• Reviews you give and receive (star rating and text)
• Disputes: the reason, description and photos you submit when reporting a problem
• Payment records: amounts, currency, payment status and Stripe transaction identifiers — never your card number, bank details (IBAN) or identity documents; those go directly to Stripe and are not visible to us
• Technical: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, cookieless usage analytics, and — only with your permission — statistics and advertising identifiers described in the cookie policy

3. How we use it

• To run the marketplace: show jobs to nearby workers, connect the two sides, and power chat
• To process payments: money is held when a job is posted and released to the worker when the customer confirms the work
• To build trust: ratings and reviews are shown to other users
• To show customers who is around: if you are a worker and open to new jobs, your public profile shows a rough activity signal, "Online now" or "Active today". It is never an exact time, it is never shown for customers, and it disappears the moment you switch off "open to new jobs" or hide your profile in Settings
• To resolve problems: dispute details are reviewed by our support team
• To notify you about activity on your jobs (in-app and, if enabled, by email — you can turn email notifications off in Settings)
• To keep the platform safe: preventing fraud and abuse

4. Legal basis

• Performance of a contract — running your account, jobs, chat and payments (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b))
• Legitimate interests — platform safety, fraud prevention and dispute resolution (Art. 6(1)(f))
• Consent — optional email notifications (withdraw anytime in Settings), and the statistics and advertising cookies you allow in the banner (Art. 6(1)(a))
• Legal obligations — keeping transaction records for tax and accounting law (Art. 6(1)(c))

5. Who we share data with

We never sell your data. It is processed by a small set of providers:

• Stripe — payment processing, holding payments in escrow and worker identity verification (KYC). Card details, bank details and ID documents are entered directly with Stripe and never touch our servers. Stripe privacy policy
• Brevo — transactional email delivery. Brevo privacy policy
• Vercel — website hosting and cookieless analytics. Vercel privacy policy
• Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) — only if you accept the analytics cookies. It records which pages are visited, roughly where from, and on what kind of device. It is never loaded before you agree, and we have turned off the advertising features entirely, so nothing here feeds ad targeting. Google privacy policy
• Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) — only if you allow the advertising cookies. The Meta Pixel tells Meta which of our pages you opened and whether you registered, posted a job or completed a worker profile, together with technical identifiers for your browser. Meta uses this to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and to show them to you again. It is never loaded before you agree, we send no names, email addresses or phone numbers, and refusing changes nothing about how the site works. Meta privacy policy
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — when you type a job address or your own town or area, the text you type is sent to the OpenStreetMap geocoding service to suggest locations. OSMF privacy policy
• ClarityWeb (clarityweb.ie), based in Ireland, provides website development and hosting services. They may access personal data for technical support and maintenance. Application data is stored in a database on a private server managed by ClarityWeb.

6. How long we keep it

• Account and profile data: for as long as your account exists
• Payment and transaction records: up to 6 years after the transaction, as required by Irish tax and accounting law
• Chat messages, reviews and disputes: while the related accounts exist, so both sides keep their history
• When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), your profile, jobs, messages, notifications and reviews are erased; transaction records that we must keep by law are retained without your marketing/contact use

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us at any time to:

• See the data we hold about you (access) — email us for an export
• Correct it (rectification) — most details can be edited in Settings
• Delete it (erasure) — use Settings → Delete account, or email us
• Restrict or object to how we use it
• Receive it in a portable format
• Withdraw consent for email notifications (Settings)

8. Cookies

One strictly-necessary session cookie keeps you signed in. Two other kinds are optional and only ever set if you say so: statistics (Google Analytics) and advertising (the Meta Pixel). They are asked about separately, so you can allow one and refuse the other, and nothing is loaded before you answer. Details are in the Cookie Policy.

9. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email before they take effect.
